I was listening to an interview with Jerry Adams yesterday and the difference between how us English perceive the union and how the north of Ireland and Scotland perceive the union is stark.
It's noticeable that the leaders of Northern Ireland,.Wales and Scotland all want independence. I don't blame you. Why would you want to be lashed to the mast of Westminster?
Thanks for your comment Tony. It's certainly the first time there has been pro-independence leaders in all 3 devolved nations, so I'm curious to see if that will change anything or how closely they might work together.
Fine - but doesn’t the argument that we must have self-determination put the cart before the horse? What are the policies of the elected Scottish government that require independence, or any constitutional change, to carry out?
Brilliant and thought provoking article Andrew, beautifully written to inform and embolden the troops! Hope we get there one day!
Thank you very much!
